JAMB releases 2019 UTME results

Students writing JAMB examination The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has assured candidates of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination that results would be ready from April 29. The Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Bwari. Benjamin said that screening of the results would soon be over and the result released. “We are still screening but hopefully, anytime next week, the results will be ready,” he said. Speaking also on the board’s readiness to screen results of UTME candidates from 2009 to 2018, Benjamin said this would begin after the release of the 2019 results. He said this was part of the board’s effort to address the issues of malpractice in the system. Man lands in trouble for posting fake picture of insane girl on Facebook

Law and Order A 28-year old man, Abdul-Salam Wasiu, on Tuesday appeared in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly posting a fake picture of an insane girl inside a gutter on Facebook. The police charged Wasiu, whose address was not given with two counts of breach of peace and belonging to a secret society. The Prosecutor, ASP Akpam Ikem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 15 at 2:54 p.m., at No. 130, Aka Road, by Church Bus Stop, in Ajangbadi area of Lagos. Ikem said the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by posting a defamatory statement on social media. He said that the defendant sent a video of a girl in a gutter on Facebook, against New Planet Hotel, located on Aka Road, Ajangbadi.  story of my life, by Atiku Abubakar I was born on November 25, 1946 in Jada, Adamawa State, Nigeria. I was named after my paternal grandfather, Atiku Abdulkadir. It was the practice among the Fulani people to name their first sons after their paternal grandfathers. My grandfather, Atiku, came originally from Wurno in Sokoto State. There, he had met and befriended Ardo Usman, a Fulani nobleman from what is now known as Adamawa State. My grandfather decided to accompany his new friend back to his home- town of Adamawa They settled in Kojoli, a small village in Jada Local Government Council of Adamawa State. My grandfather farmed, kept livestock and raised a family. He married a local girl in Kojoli and gave birth to my father, Garba Atiku Abdulkadir. He was their only child.
